To reaccredit as a colposcopist you need to show that you have attended a required educational meeting.

Colposcopists must have attended at least one BSCCP recognised intermediate/advanced postgraduate meeting, or alternatively a BSCCP Annual Scientific Meeting, in the preceding 3 years.

It is essential to keep and be able to present attendance certificates as evidence.

Which meetings and courses are suitable for reaccreditation?

Not all courses/meetings are suitable for reaccreditation.  It is imperative that you ensure the meeting you are attending is recognised for reaccreditation.  If you are in any doubt, please contact the BSCCP office to clarify.

As a reminder, previous Annual Scientific Meetings, acceptable for reaccreditation on 1st September 2018, are as follows:

2019 Bournemouth
2018 Manchester
2017 Cardiff

What happens if you have not attended a suitable meeting in the required timeframe?

A colposcopist who has failed to attend a recognised meeting within the preceding 3 years may apply for reaccreditation provisional upon a certificate of attendance at an appropriate recognised meeting being submitted by 1st of September 2019. After this date the colposcopist will be placed on the “Suspend” list and will no longer appear on the register of accredited colposcopists.
